Our traps are primarily designed to catch bed bugs climbing up and down your bed posts. However, the traps can also be used on the legs of sofas, chairs, dressers, drawers, and other furniture. Bed bugs are attracted by carbon dioxide, and, as a result, the traps are typically most effective when placed beneath the legs of beds and furniture occupied by humans while they are sleeping.
We offer our bed bug interceptors in two sizes. Our “Pro” circular traps have an interior diameter (where the furniture leg is placed) of 4 inches. Our larger “XL” rectangular traps have interior dimensions of 7 inches by 5 inches. Both traps have a height of approximately 1 inch.

No, our traps are designed to trap bed bugs without the need for any added substances or powders. However, some customers have found success adding small amounts of Diatomaceous Earth (DE) powder or soapy water to the moat of the trap. However, when adding substances to the traps, it is important to ensure it is done in a very small quantity and only at the bottom of the well in order to avoid creating a means by which trapped bugs may crawl out of the trap.
We recommend inspecting the interceptors at least weekly. Even if there are no bed bugs in the traps, other debris such as lint and dust can accumulate which can provide bed bugs traction to climb out.
If evidence of bed bugs is detected, empty contents into a tightly sealed plastic bag. Ensure the plastic bag is free of tears and holes and dispose of immediately in a trash bin outside your home. See the FAQ below about washing and reusing the traps.
Simply wash any lint, dust, and other debris out of the trap with soap and water. No special cleaning solution or supplies are necessary. It is important to ensure the traps are dry before placing them back into use.
Bed bug interceptors are used as both a pre-treatment detection method and a post-treatment monitoring tool. We recommend that you place bed bug interceptors on your furniture legs at the first sign of a possible infestation.
